Letter Tracing Worksheets can be a great way to learn the letters of the alphabet, and build muscle memory and hand strength. Once your little ones have learned some letter sounds, try out the Beginning Sounds Worksheet Pack. Say each word out loud with your child, and listen to see which letter the beginning of the word starts with.

Alphabet Poster Activities for Preschool (Movement & Hands-On Play)
These free alphabet posters for preschool are perfect for more than classroom wall décor! Try these easy, no-prep alphabet activities to help preschoolers practice letter recognition, matching, and early phonics through movement and play.
Hollydog’s Letter Dash (Movement Game)
Tape alphabet posters around the room or classroom. Call out a letter or letter sound, and have children run, hop, tiptoe, or crawl to the matching poster. Once they arrive, everyone says the letter name or sound together. Hollydog’s Letter Dash is a fun way to build letter recognition and listening skills while keeping little learners active.
Alphabet Poster Matching Games
Place a few alphabet posters on the wall and give children letter cards, magnetic letters, or sticky notes. Invite them to match each letter to the correct poster. For an added challenge, ask children to match uppercase to lowercase letters or find pictures that begin with the same letter sound.
Alphabet Scavenger Hunt
Hide small letter cards or objects around the room. When a letter is found, children bring it back and place it next to the matching alphabet poster. This activity builds visual discrimination, problem-solving, and early phonics skills in a playful, hands-on way.
Teacher Tip
Start with just 3–5 alphabet posters at a time and rotate letters throughout the week. Repetition + movement helps letters stick!
