Step 1: Gather your supplies! Print out your acorn craft pieces onto cardstock paper for the best results. Regular computer paper is too thin! Cut out the three acorn pieces with scissors, then get decorating. Use watercolors, markers, or crayons to fill in the stem and cap. I used watercolors.

Step 2: Let your cap and stem dry while filling in the bottom of the acorn. Use scissors to cut small squares out of the brown construction paper, this can be done beforehand when prepping for the craft. Use a glue stick and paste squares all over the bottom of the acorn. Using these small pieces to create a new whole is called “collage”.

Step 3: Finally, glue all three pieces together! Be sure to hang your new acorn somewhere that needs a bit of nature inspiration! Don’t forget to head outside and see some real acorns.

Remember to make this craft your own! Combine watercolors, markers, crayons, even pom poms! Everyone’s acorn will be different and unique. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, use brown tissue paper for the bottom of the acorn. See how its texture changes the look!
