Show Teachers How Much They’re Valued

Teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs, but let’s be honest, it’s also one of the most challenging! From the moment little ones walk into the classroom, teachers are juggling a million things at once. Did you know that teachers make thousands of decisions every single day? That’s a lot of thinking on your feet! And these days, teachers are expected to do SO much more than simply teach. They’re helping children learn, navigating big emotions, encouraging friendships, solving little disagreements, and making sure every child feels safe, supported, and loved. That’s A LOT of work!

But here’s something else I think we sometimes forget. Teachers don’t always know what’s going on inside a child’s mind or what they might be experiencing at home. A little one who seems distracted, frustrated, or unusually quiet might be going through something they don’t quite have the words to explain yet. Teachers have to navigate these moments with patience, kindness, and understanding, even when they’re having a difficult day themselves. And I think that’s something worth recognizing!

    5 Gifts Teachers Actually Appreciate!

My mom and I agreed that the best gifts we have been given by students are hand written notes expressing gratitude and gift cards to restaurants that we ordinarily woudn’t go to because… teacher’s salary! The best gifts are often thoughtful, practical, and heartfelt! Here are five teacher appreciation gift ideas that are sure to bring a smile.

    • Heartfelt Notes and Drawings: A handwritten thank-you note or colorful drawing from a little one can mean so much! Encourage your child to share what they love about their teacher or draw a picture of their favorite classroom memory. These personal gifts are often treasured for years.
    • Classroom Supplies: Teachers frequently spend their own money on classroom materials, so helping them stock up is a wonderful way to show appreciation! Consider gifting dry erase markers, eraser, glue sticks, tissues, hand sanitizer, post-its, or other supplies they use every day.
    • Gift Cards: Sometimes the most practical gifts are the most appreciated! Gift cards to Amazon, Target, a favorite coffee shop, or a local restaurant give teachers the freedom to treat themselves to something they really enjoy.
    • Coffee Cup Warming Pad: This is one of my personal favorite teacher appreciation gift ideas! Teachers are always busy, and their coffee or tea can get cold before they have a chance to enjoy it. A coffee cup warming pad is a thoughtful little gift that helps keep their favorite drink warm throughout the day.
    • A Little Self-Care Gift: Teachers spend their days caring for others, so why not give them something just for themselves? A cozy pair of socks, a relaxing candle, a favorite snack, or a small self-care basket can be a lovely way to encourage a little rest and relaxation.
