Octopus Activities for Preschool!

First, use a marker or crayon to trace the letter O in the Letter O Tracing Sheet. Trace it, circle it, color it. Then, engage with a fun Octopus Coloring Sheet saying, “An Octopus has 8 Legs!”. Next, find all 10 octopuses in an Octopus Eye Spy Worksheet. Use a marker or crayon to circle each octopus. To build pincher strength, use small stickers. Peel and stick one sticker onto each octopus. Be sure to print your pages onto cardstock paper for the best results.

Build pre-writing skills in the Octopus Counting 1-10 Worksheet. Use a marker or crayon to trace each number! Next, put together an exciting Octopus Puzzle! The fun isn’t over! Check out some great ways to keep the octopus theme going! Have fun with these activities to build fine motor skills, boost creativity, and have new experiences!

First, have fun with a Paper Plate Octopus Craft! Have fun filling in your paper plate with Dot Dot markers. Make your octopus colorful! Then, attach 8 streamers to the bottom of the paper plate to show that your octopus has 8 legs! This craft is great for getting creative and counting numbers 1-8.

Check out some great under the sea themed snack ideas from Tonya Staab. My favorite under the sea snack mix from her site contains pretzel stick ‘rods’, Goldfish crackers, and blue candy ‘bubbles’ with popcorn! This is a healthy snack to celebrate an ocean theme!

Finally, check out another great O is for Octopus Craft from Crystal and Comp. This craft is great because it has an additional fine motor element of placing three Cheerios onto each octopus leg. All you need is construction paper, googly eyes, and Cheerios!
