What is Groundhog Day?
Groundhog Day is a tradition celebrated on February 2nd in the U.S. and Canada. The idea is that a groundhog comes out of its burrow to check the weather—if it sees its shadow, winter will last six more weeks, but if not, spring is on the way! It’s a fun and lighthearted way for little ones to learn about the seasons, with the excitement of seeing what the groundhog “predicts” each year.
