What Are the 7 Pieces of the Armor of God?

Here are the seven pieces of armor, explained in simple, kid-friendly language. This is a wonderful section to read aloud in Sunday School, during a Bible lesson, or anytime you want to help little learners understand how God helps us grow strong and brave.

The Belt of Truth – God helps us tell the truth and choose what is right.
The Breastplate of Righteousness – God protects our hearts and teaches us to be kind, loving, and fair.
The Shoes of Peace – These remind us to walk with calmness, friendship, and peace wherever we go.
The Shield of Faith – Faith helps us feel safe and close to God, even when things feel hard.
The Helmet of Salvation – God protects our minds and helps us remember that we are loved and saved.
The Sword of the Spirit – God’s Word, the Bible, teaches us how to be strong and make good choices.
Prayer – Paul ends this passage by encouraging constant prayer. Many families teach this as the seventh “piece” that connects the whole armor together, helping us talk to God anytime.
