Let’s hear the story: Mark 6:30-44 One day, Jesus was teaching a huge crowd of people—over 5,000! They listened to Him all day and got very hungry. But there wasn’t any food nearby. A little boy had a small lunch with five loaves of bread and two fish. He gave it to Jesus. Jesus looked up to heaven, thanked God, and began to share the food.

Then something amazing happened! The little bit of food became enough to feed everyone. All the people ate until they were full, and there were even twelve baskets of leftovers! Jesus showed His great love and power by caring for all the people. No one went hungry.

Materials Needed: cardstock paper, scissors, glue, markers/crayons, paper plate, free printable cutouts

Step 1: Gather your supplies! Print your fishes and loaves cutouts onto cardstock paper. Next, cut your paper plate in half and decorate! I decided to cover my paper plate in tissue paper squares. This is great for building fine motor skills.

Step 3: Glue your fishes and loaves to the basket! A great way to remember where to find the story of Jesus feeds the 5,000 is to write the Bible verse reference on the back. The story can be found in all of the gospels, and I found that John’s is the most detailed. Reference whichever book you use.
