Step 1: Gather your materials! Be sure to print out your free unicorn pieces onto cardstock paper. First, put a dot of purple paint onto the paper plate and have your little ones use a sponge to dab the paint all over the paper plate. I used a really light colored purple paint. Find what’s washable and what works for you.

Step 2: Once you’ve finished sponge painting your plate, use scissors to cut out the unicorn parts. Then, use a glue stick to paste each piece onto the paper plate.

Step 3: I couldn’t resist the glitter! Use a touch of glitter paint for your unicorn’s checks. Add any extra touches that you like. If you don’t want to work with paint, try using watercolors to fill in the paper plate. This works just as well. Print your Unicorn Worksheets for more practice building fine motor skills.

I wish this template came in black and white . I like my kids to color their own design.
