Process Art Ice Painting!

Check out this awesome process art ice painting activity for building fine motor skills and boosting creativity! Get imaginative with your little ones, and break out your ice-cube trays! Not only do you get to talk about colors and get mixing, but this is a great activity for inside or outside, rain or shine.

Materials Needed:

  • ice-cube trays
  • popsicle sticks snapped in half
  • water
  • food coloring

For this activity, all you have to do is fill an ice-cube tray with water and add food coloring to each cube; simply add 1 or 2 drops to each cube of water. Break your popsicle sticks in half and lay one in each cube. Put your tray in the freezer for a couple of hours. When you take the tray out, you are ready to create some beautiful art! For the best results, let the tray sit out for 10 minutes so the cubes are less frozen.
